Data-driven solutions to improve human health and the environment: Addressing causes and effects of hazardous exposures - Dec 8-10

Many NIH grantees focus on scientific investigation and clean-up of hazardous environmental exposures. This conference hosted by Texas A&M University Superfund Research Center aims to highlight the science that contributes to progress made on identifying, investigating, and cleaning up hazardous waste sites to protect human health and the environment. The 2.5-day program will feature impactful research, community engagement, research translation, and training innovations from across the country.

The topics that will be addressed by presenters from across various academic institutions will include:

  1. advanced techniques for the detection, assessment, and evaluation of the effects on human health of hazardous substances,
  2. methods to assess the risks to human health presented by hazardous substances,
  3. methods and technologies to detect hazardous substances in the environment, and
  4. basic biological, chemical, and physical methods to reduce the amount and toxicity of hazardous substances.

Registration fees will include: breakfast and lunch for 3 days Monday - Wednesday, dinner on Monday night, and coffee breaks
