Aquatic Vegetation & Water Quality Management for Ponds
1.5 hours- We will cover aquatic vegetation management strategies available to landowners in Texas, including physical/mechanical control, biological control (triploid grass carp, Mozambique tilapia), and chemical control using the 15 active ingredients approved for aquatic use by both EPA and TDA. We will then cover how to identify 10 common aquatic vegetation groups or species, as it is the first step in management then discuss how to use available options to develop an integrated pest management strategy to offer effective control.
0.5 hours - We will finish the problem by covering acceptable and optimal ranges for both a fishery and for aquatic vegetation management, including herbicide applications for specific active ingredients.
