The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) is proud to present Serving Every Texan Every Day: Celebrating CVM100 Years, produced in honor of the CVM Centennial in 2016. Researched and authored by staff from the Medical Sciences Library, drawing from the photo archives of the CVM and the Cushing Memorial Library, and produced by CVM Communications, this coffee table book provides a decade-by-decade snapshot of the rich history of veterinary medical education. In addition to chapters with time lines that chronicle each decade, a foreword and afterword by Dr. Green, and an introductory chapter, the book also includes chapters about The Biomedical Sciences Program, The Deans, The Facilities, and the college’s Outstanding Alumni. Starting Before 1916—when Dr. Mark Francis first moved to Texas from Ohio—the book captures the history of the veterinary medical profession in Texas through the opening of the new Veterinary & Biomedical Education Complex at the CVM in 2016.
