QEC Donations

Howdy! Thank you for your interest in donating to the Queer Empowerment Council (QEC)! The QEC is a newly formed umbrella organization of LGBTQ+ student organizations at Texas A&M. It is charged with putting on Draggieland 2025 and many of the other events and programs that the Pride Center used to host. Since student organizations do not get the same funding that departments and centers like the Pride Center did, we would greatly appreciate any contributions to our organization. All proceeds will go directly to supporting these events!
On January 1st, 2024, Senate Bill 17 went into effect, targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and offices in public universities across Texas. As a consequence of this, the beloved Texas A&M University Pride Center has undergone a rebrand to the ''Student Life Center". These changes also include restrictions on the type of events the center may host, placing the burden on the Queer Empowerment Council to continue and organize many other events and programs formerly handled by the Pride Center. These events include Lavender Graduation, a separate, affirming graduation ceremony for LGBTQIA+ students; the Coming Out Monologues, an event where participants told their coming-out story to an audience; and the Pride Mentors, a mentorship program that focuses on connecting LGBTQ+ students and community members, among others.
We thank you for your contributions because your donations will also directly support the continuation of these traditions and more as the Queer Empowerment Council continues to become a better resource for queer students and community members at Texas A&M and the greater Bryan-College Station area.
Please note that this platform supports donations up to $249 due to restrictions on credit card donations for Texas A&M student organizations. Larger donations can be taken through checks addressed to the following:
