Nov 2022- Fundamentals and Practices of Process Safety and Loss Prevention (virtual training)
6-10 November 2022
This course is offered virtually by Texas A&M University at Qatar.
This short course is designed to teach and apply the fundamentals of process safety management. The content is comprehensive and provides extensive analysis, worked out examples, and case histories. The primary emphasis of this course is to summarize the important technical and management fundamentals of process safety. The emphasis on the fundamentals helps the practicing engineer understand the concepts and apply them accordingly.
The course starts with a brief overview of the management systems that must be in place in a moder plant in order to implement process safety. Appropriate discussion and problem solving time is provided for each of the areas of toxicology and industrial hygiene, hazard indentification, consequence analysis, quantitative risk assessment and risk reduction measures. The course also introduces two important concepts that are often overlooked, i.e., inherently safer design and multiple barriers or protection.
This short course is designed to teach and apply the fundamentals of chemical process safety.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for those who are working in the process industry and would like to obtain a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals and best available practices of process safety and loss preventions. Delegates are likely to have a degree in engineering or science or equivalent industrial experience.
