Key Topics - ICNEM promotes the understanding of the elastic nonlinear behavior of solids and soft matter. The conference focuses both on basic research and applications and represents the state of the art in this domain. Topics include...
Elastic nonlinear behavior of Earth materials, industrial materials, granular media, soft-matter, and architected/meta-materials.
Advancements in theoretical approaches.
Modeling and simulation of nonlinear elasticity.
Measurement techniques for probing nonlinear elastic behavior of materials.
Characterization of nonlinear material properties.
Applications of nonlinear elasticity to nondestructive evaluation of materials.
Elastic nonlinear behavior in medicine.
The role of elastic nonlinear behavior in slip/avalanche physics and triggering of slip by nonlinear acoustical waves.
Earthquakes and geophysics.

Preliminary Schedule Highlights
Sunday: Welcome reception
Monday: Opening session in memory of Robert A. Guyer + technical sessions
Tuesday: Full day technical sessions; conference dinner in the evening
Wednesday: Morning sessions + afternoon excursion
Thursday-Friday: Technical sessions (Friday may be full or half day depending on submissions)
Saturday: Organizers’ recap and planning meeting

Overview keynote presentations will be interspersed throughout the week, providing accessible introductions and context for targeted topic areas while still highlighting cutting-edge research.

We also are placing a strong emphasis on student and post-doc participation. Student-presented contributions are especially encouraged, and we anticipate a dedicated student session, along with student awards, to recognize outstanding work and foster engagement among early-career researchers.
