PET RESCUER CPR COURSE

$0.00 / unit

Pet Rescuer certification is a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course that focuses on providing basic life support skills to non-medical veterinary paraprofessionals and pet owners. Students will learn how to determine if an animal requires CPR, administer high-quality chest compressions and breaths, and safely transport an animal to a veterinary hospital.

This course has been developed by the Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation (RECOVER), a collaboration between the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. The RECOVER Initiative is an evidence-based assessment of best recommendations for CPR in veterinary medicine to improve outcomes in our furry family members.

Pet Rescuer certification is a two-step process: an online pre-course and in-person training. This is consistent with many human CPR courses. The online pre-course MUST be completed prior to the in-person training. Recertification is occurs every 2 years and consists of an online course provided by RECOVER, not Texas A&M University. This training focuses only on CPR for dogs and cats.

The training will take place in the VIDI Building from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
